Robot possibly conducts symphony

Check out that caption! Does it bother anyone else that the most respected name in news isn’t quite sure if a robot has conducted a symphony before?  Was someone in Detroit saying, “Well, Dr. Yomomoto was in here last week, but we never had the balls to ask him if he was a robot.  You better put us down for a ‘may be’ there.”

And honestly, what’s with the “any robot” remark?  Is there some sort of special stipulation for robot-conducting that I wasn’t aware of?  “Well, we’ve had a few roombas conduct the hell out of Ein deutsches Requiem the other day, but as you and I both know, they’re hardly robots in the classical sense.” 

What I learned: Robots may live Detroit, but we’re not sure.
